One of the Sage Group’s clients is looking for a Social Media and Listening Manager to help shape and manage the CEO’s social media presence across multiple platforms. Client is a file hosting service headquartered in San Francisco, California, that offers cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software.
Role Description:
We’re hiring a Social Listening & Trend Spotter to help shape and manage the CEO’s social media presence across multiple platforms. This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of internet culture and executive comms — someone who knows what’s trending, understands how to translate ideas into engaging content and is confident posting on behalf of a highly visible tech leader. You’ll be responsible for posting day-to-day content, identifying timely opportunities to engage and helping maintain a smart, human, and consistent executive social media presence. You’ll work closely with the Senior Social Media Lead and the Office of the CEO to ensure the content is relevant, well-timed and strategically aligned.
Responsibilities:
Content Sourcing & Drafting
- Translate internal ideas, meetings and milestones into engaging, on-brand posts.
- Collaborate with the CEO’s team and Senior Social Media Lead to refine content ideas and ensure alignment with broader messaging.
- Propose new content formats or visual treatments that feel organic to each platform
Platform Management & Execution
- Draft daily posting and scheduling across the CEO’s social platforms (primarily LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and Instagram).
- Draft and collaborate on short-form content that reflects the CEO’s voice, tone, and priorities.
- Ensure a consistent cadence of thought leadership, behind-the-scenes updates and timely engagement.
Trend Spotting & Real-Time Engagement
- Stay plugged into social trends, news cycles, cultural moments, and surface timely opportunities for the CEO to weigh in.
- Identify moments when the CEO’s voice could drive relevance or spark conversation in tech, product or founder communities.
- Suggest creative, platform-native ways to engage with viral moments or user-generated content..
Quality Control & Brand Integrity
- Use strong judgment to ensure all content is appropriate, professional, and on-message.
- Maintain a consistent executive voice across platforms while allowing for authenticity and personality.
- Monitor post performance and engagement to continuously inform content direction and timing.
Requirements:

8+ years of experience managing or contributing to social media for a public-facing individual, executive or brand, in B2B tech

Knowledge of social performance tools (i.e. Sprout, Sprinklr, Brandwatch, etc.)

Deep understanding of platform best practices and content styles across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, and emerging platforms

Strong writer who can quickly adapt to another person’s tone and communication style
- Culturally curious, highly organized, and confident operating in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled in content scheduling tools and native publishing platforms
- Comfortable working with discretion and confidentiality on executive communications

Background in tech, startups, or founder-led brands

Experience ghostwriting or managing executive thought leadership content

Familiarity with light creative tools (e.g., Canva, Figma, CapCut, Adobe etc.) and social media analytics tools
Location
: 100% remote in Bay Area or LA, available to meet the team now and then and be available for some travel in California
Duration: 6-12 months plus extension and contract to hire potential
Compensation: $80-123hr
