Job description

Senior Product Marketing Manager

About the role

The Sage Group’s client, a leading AI Identity Management company, is looking for a hands-on Senior Product Marketing Manager with a strong product or technical foundation to help define how we show up in the market. This role is contract to hire.
This is not a generalist marketing role. The right person will be comfortable getting deep into the product, working directly with product managers, engineers and solutions engineers and understanding how we work at an architectural and technical level. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be able to follow technical conversations, ask smart questions and turn complex product capabilities into clear, credible messaging.
You’ll work across product, engineering, sales, customer success and executive leadership to translate technical innovation into stories customers understand and sales teams can use. You’ll own product launch coordination, major content, customer communications and sales enablement while partnering closely with demand generation to build campaigns that create awareness and pipeline.
You’ll create a lot yourself, but you’ll also know when to bring in outside expertise. You’ll manage external writers, analysts and industry contributors, keeping projects moving while ensuring every piece of content reflects a consistent point of view and a high editorial standard.
If you enjoy getting close to the product, working through technical complexity and turning what you learn into strong market-facing stories, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll support

Product launches and go-to-market

  • Serve as a true extension of the product team throughout the product lifecycle, from early discovery and design through launch, adoption and iteration

  • Develop a deep understanding of our architecture, integrations, workflows and technical differentiation

  • Participate in product and engineering discussions to understand what is being built, why it matters and how it should be positioned

  • Lead messaging and go-to-market planning for new products and major feature launches

  • Create launch plans, customer announcements, sales assets and supporting content

  • Partner with product and sales to recruit and support design partners and lighthouse customers

  • Help shape product positioning and roadmap decisions based on customer, field and market feedback

Messaging and content

  • Own product messaging and positioning across the company

  • Work closely with product, engineering and solutions engineering to ensure all messaging, content and enablement materials are technically accurate

  • Develop content including solution briefs, web copy, blog posts, white papers, presentations, customer stories and thought leadership

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for technical and executive audiences

  • Support and expand our GEO and LLM visibility strategy through high-quality, authoritative content

  • Manage external writers, analysts, agencies and industry contributors to scale content production while maintaining a consistent voice and high editorial standards

Sales, partner and field enablement

  • Build and maintain sales playbooks, battlecards, pitch decks and competitive messaging

  • Create partner enablement materials and product training

  • Support strategic sales opportunities with customer-facing content and executive presentations

  • Gather feedback from the field to continuously improve messaging and enablement

  • Partner with product and solutions engineering to develop technically accurate product demos, demo narratives and supporting presentations

  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to customers, analysts, partners and industry audiences when appropriate

Customer marketing

  • Build an ongoing customer communications program including newsletters, webinars, product updates and educational content

  • Interview customers and develop case studies, testimonials and reference stories

  • Capture customer insights that influence messaging, positioning and future product direction

Analyst and market engagement

  • Build relationships with industry analysts and key influencers

  • Coordinate analyst briefings, inquiries and supporting materials for executive leadership

  • Conduct customer, buyer and market research to validate positioning, refine personas and identify emerging use cases and market opportunities

  • Monitor competitive activity and industry trends to strengthen positioning and sales readiness

Campaigns, webinars and events

  • Partner closely with demand generation to develop integrated campaigns that drive awareness and pipeline

  • Create the messaging and content that powers campaigns, including landing pages, ebooks, webinars, email nurtures and digital assets

  • Support industry events with booth messaging, presentations, signage, product demos and event collateral

  • Participate in webinars, customer conversations, user groups and industry events as a knowledgeable representative

  • Ensure every launch is supported by a coordinated marketing campaign and supporting sales assets

What success looks like

  • Successful product launches that are delivered on time and adopted by customers and the field

  • Clear, differentiated messaging that is consistently reflected across every customer touchpoint

  • High-quality content that supports thought leadership, demand generation, GEO and LLM visibility

  • Sales and partners who have the tools and messaging they need to win

  • Strong analyst relationships and growing market awareness

  • Customer stories and communications that increase engagement and advocacy

  • Sales enablement that is actively used by the field and improves message consistency, seller confidence and execution

  • Marketing assets delivered on schedule to support campaigns, webinars and events

  • Meaningful contribution to shared pipeline and campaign performance goals alongside demand generation

What we’re looking for

Product and technical foundation

  • A strong product or technical background, with experience working closely with product management, engineering, solutions engineering or technical customer teams

  • Experience marketing cybersecurity, identity, cloud infrastructure, developer tools or other technically complex enterprise software

  • A demonstrated ability to learn complex product architectures and explain how the product works, not just why it matters

  • Comfort working with APIs, integrations, cloud permissions, access workflows, security architecture and other technical concepts

  • Familiarity with privileged access, cloud IAM, identity governance, authorization or Zero Trust is strongly preferred

  • Previous experience in Solutions Engineering, Engineering, or Product Management would be ideal

Product marketing experience

  • 5 or more years of product marketing experience in enterprise B2B SaaS

  • Experience leading enterprise product launches from strategy through execution

  • Strong messaging and positioning skills, including the ability to translate technical capabilities into clear customer and business value

  • Experience creating sales enablement, competitive messaging, customer-facing content and go-to-market materials

  • Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills

Communication and collaboration

  • The ability to participate credibly in technical product discussions, ask detailed questions and identify the implications for customers, buyers and the market

  • The ability to communicate clearly with security practitioners, architects, engineers and executive buyers

  • Comfort working directly with executives, customers, analysts, product managers and engineering teams

  • Experience managing agencies, contractors or external content contributors

  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to challenge, clarify and improve ideas across teams

How you work

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage several high-impact projects at once

  • Comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on execution

  • Able to work independently, make sound decisions and keep projects moving without a lot of structure

  • A bias toward action in a fast-moving startup environment
