Events Program Manager
One of The Sage Group’s clients is looking for an Events Program Manager, ideally someone that has supported Dreamforce before. Client has Data Center products designed for enterprise organizations that need client’s products to perform well at scale, with minimum downtime for their users. The client is a leading company when it comes to software development tools.
Overview
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive Events Manager Contractor to support the planning and execution of Dreamforce. This role is cross-functional in nature and will serve as a central coordination hub — managing work-back plans, tracking milestones, driving cross-org alignment with the Dreamforce product marketing leadership team, and ensuring all stakeholders are informed and on pace for large scale deliverables.
Responsibilities
Program & Project Management
Own and maintain the master Dreamforce work-back plan, ensuring all milestones, deadlines, and dependencies are clearly documented and tracked
Proactively identify risks, blockers, and schedule slippage — escalate issues with recommended solutions
Manage and update project tracking tools (e.g., Asana, Google Sheets, or equivalent) in real time
Drive accountability across work streams by managing action items, owners, and due dates
Cross-Organizational Coordination
Support the Dreamforce Team Captain across key updates, communications and timelines to ensure seamless alignment and collaboration (Marketing, Sales, Product, Creative, Logistics, Executive Programs, etc.)
Work with the Dreamforce Team Captain to facilitate regular syncs across orgs to align on priorities, surface dependencies, and resolve conflicts
Develop and distribute cross-org status updates on a weekly (or as-needed) cadence — keeping stakeholders informed without requiring them to chase information
Partner with team leads to define work stream scope, resource needs, and success metrics
Communications & Reporting
Draft and distribute stakeholder-facing status reports, including executive summaries via slides and dashboards
Create and maintain a central source of truth for Dreamforce program information (timelines, contacts, decisions, assets)
Prepare briefing materials, meeting agendas, and recap documents for key planning meetings
Maintain a decisions/assumptions log to ensure alignment across work streams
Logistics & Operations Support
Coordinate logistics-related planning tasks as assigned (venue coordination, run-of-show support, vendor follow-ups, etc.)
Assist with on-site coordination support during Dreamforce as needed
Support post-event wrap-up, including collecting retrospective feedback and documenting lessons learned
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in event program management, or a related field — with large-scale conference experience strongly preferred
Prior experience supporting Dreamforce or other large-scale Salesforce events
Background in marketing operations or event marketing a plus
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder work-back plans with many interdependencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to produce clean, concise status updates and exec summaries
Strong proficiency with project management tools (Slack, Asana, Quip, Smartsheet, Google Workspace, or similar)
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities
Collaborative team player who can also work independently with minimal direction
Experience working across multiple orgs or business units within a large enterprise
Duration: 3 months plus potential extension
Location: Bay Area CA ideally, or 100% remote and can travel to the Bay Area rarely for large events
Compensation: $60/hour – $65/hour
At this time we are only accepting applications from US, CAN, UK
