The Sage Group’s client is seeking a Data Visualization Designer to serve as the primary creative engine for their blog content. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex information into clear, concise, and compelling visuals that enhance reader engagement and support their core messaging.

Role Overview

You will own the visual storytelling strategy for the blog, ensuring that every article is supported by high-quality graphic assets. You will be responsible not only for creating original designs—ranging from featured images to intricate charts and diagrams—but also for managing the lifecycle of these assets, ensuring all visuals are updated and refreshed as the copy evolves.

Key Responsibilities

• Visual Content Creation: Design featured images, in-text infographics, charts, and diagrams that simplify complex topics for our audience.

• Collaborative Design: Partner with the content and editorial team to translate core messaging into “snackable,” high-performing visual chunks.

• Technical Implementation: Utilize brand templates in tools like Canva to build assets and generate CDN links for implementation in our CMS, Contentful, ensuring all images meet specific dimension requirements.

• Data Translation: Collaborate with writers to interpret research and data, “getting into the weeds” to break down complicated concepts into clear, visual takeaways.

Qualifications & Experience

• Portfolio Requirement: You must provide a portfolio or website showcasing examples of your previous work, with a specific focus on stats, charts, and infographic design.

• Design Expertise: Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).

• Data Visualization Focus: A proven ability to take dense, technical, or research-heavy information and synthesize it into clear, concise, and visually appealing graphics.

• Content Management: Familiarity with CMS platforms (such as Contentful) and digital asset management is a plus.

• Strategic Mindset: An analytical approach to design – you are excited about charts and diagrams and understand how visual elements drive engagement.

Duration: 6 months
Compensation: $45 – 55/Hour
