Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support customer master data, order monitoring, and operational data-quality initiatives for a fast-paced technology and logistics organization. This freelance opportunity is ideal for a proactive professional who can manage competing priorities, communicate effectively in a remote environment, and adapt quickly to evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create new customer records and assign appropriate customer roles within internal systems.

  • Contact customers to obtain missing information and verify submitted data for accuracy.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer setup issues using established procedures.

  • Partner with leadership on complex issues affecting multiple processes or systems.

  • Complete assigned requests within service-level timelines and provide timely status updates.

  • Maintain high standards for data accuracy, validity, completeness, and consistency.

  • Create and update master-data procedures, documentation, and standard operating procedures.

  • Develop working knowledge of how customer requests affect downstream processes and systems.

  • Monitor approximately 5–10 orders at a time while managing side projects and competing priorities.

  • Identify production technical issues and escalate them to IT or engineering teams as appropriate.

  • Contribute to operational projects and continuous process-improvement initiatives.

Role Expectations

  • Work a part-time schedule of approximately 30 hours per week.

  • Maintain flexibility to support occasional one- to two-week overtime periods when needed.

  • Adapt effectively to context switching, rapid learning, and changing processes.

  • Provide clear and consistent updates on active work, priorities, and risks.

  • Be available for one to two weekends per month based on business needs.

  • Balance responsiveness with accuracy while managing multiple requests in a high-volume environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2.5+ years of experience in data entry, data operations, back-office operations, or a related field.

  • Strong customer-service skills, including responsive communication, follow-up, and issue resolution.

  • Experience validating data, completing accuracy checks, and troubleshooting data or system issues.

  • Ability to monitor orders and manage multiple simultaneous requests with close attention to detail.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with customers and internal teams.

  • Ability to recognize and appropriately escalate technical or system-related issues.

  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for tracking, validation, and reporting.

  • Experience maintaining SOPs, supporting process improvements, and working effectively in remote settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, customer support, IT operations, or another high-volume operational environment.

  • Experience supporting customer master data, order management, or connected systems and workflows.
