Job description

Creative Strategist & Insights Lead
Contract, 6+ Months (Opp to Extend/Convert) | SF Bay Area, Hybrid | $80/hr

The Sage Group’s client, who runs one of the highest-volume paid creative pipelines in fintech, is looking for a Creative Strategist & Insights Lead. The work moves fast and every asset is measured: each week the team reads creative tests against channel CPE goals, decides what scales, and briefs the next round from what it learned.

This integral role works across all Paid Channel managers, and owns the weekly creative performance readout and monthly leadership update. They are also expected to be a day-to-day operator in AI-assisted creative insights & production through Hightouch (AI tool). This is a creative insights role with a genuine analytics spine. The right person is equally comfortable arguing for a creative idea in a room and writing the query that proves whether it worked.

Key Responsibilities
Performance insights, reporting & analytics

  • Own and publish the Weekly Paid Creative Results & Insights readout in Slack. What tests were evaluated, CPE wins and win rate, value-prop mix, scaled wins to date, and channel-by-channel learnings with a stated point of view on what to do next.
  • Build the underlying analysis – work with paid channel managers, but seek ways to automate with Claude and Hightouch to move the manual cross-platform work from individuals to AI.
  • Publish a weekly external insights summary — competitors, cultural trends, seasonality — usable as an input to briefs.
  • Own the reporting and insight roll-up for CRO / paid landing page testing in partnership with the CRO lead.
  • Design and maintain creative testing frameworks: what constitutes sufficient spend and signal, what counts as a win, how read windows are set, and how learnings are tagged so they compound.
  • Prepare performance readouts for senior stakeholders, including leadership-level decks on creative volume, channel mix and scaled wins.
  • Maintain and expand the creative taxonomy for tagging creative to ensure proper tracking and analysis. This continues to be something we haven’t finalized.

AI-assisted creative production

  • Act as one of the team’s hands-on operator in Hightouch : leveraging the tool for insights based on performance, creative prediction, and competitive analysis.
  • Use AI tooling across the rest of the workflow too — insight synthesis, competitor and fatigue analysis, social listening, and drafting recurring posts and readouts — and improve those workflows rather than just running them.

Meetings & cross-functional coordination

  • Actively participate in the DR Creative Strategy pod operating rhythms. Weekly commitment approx 5 hrs of meetings, coordination, briefings, strategy sessions, leadership meetings.
  • Weekly partner syncs (Hightouch, Collier Simon) and a weekly 1:1 with the hiring manager

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years in performance creative strategy, growth marketing or creative analytics , with direct ownership of paid creative testing and reporting.
  • Strong analytics background. Can independently pull, structure and interpret creative performance data: writes their own SQL, builds their own dashboards, and can explain CPE, CAC, incrementality and statistical sufficiency without hedging. Comfortable saying a test was inconclusive.
  • Hands-on experience with AI creative or analysis tools — or, failing direct experience, clear evidence of curiosity and a track record of testing new tools into a real workflow. We would rather hire someone who has taught themselves three tools this year than someone who lists one on a résumé. Expect to discuss specifics: what you tried, what broke, what you kept.
  • Breadth across digital and offline channels beyond social — meaningful exposure to several of: YouTube, app/UAC, mobile DSPs, display, demand gen, CTV, affiliates, native, audio/podcast, direct mail, and paid landing page conversion work.
  • Strong communication – brings insights, not just data. This role publishes a weekly readout to a wide internal audience and supports delivery of our learnings and insights to leadership in decks and docs.
  • Able to operate independently in a high-volume, fast-moving environment with multiple agency partners and competing priorities.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience in a regulated marketing environment — financial services, fintech, healthcare or similar — with exposure to legal/compliance review cycles and disclosure requirements.
  • Familiarity with Hightouch specifically, or with another generative creative platform used in production rather than in a pilot.
  • Experience presenting performance narratives to senior leadership.
  • Comfort improving the operational layer — the brief tracker and Jira sync is currently manual, and ideas for automating it are welcome.
